Study Break

It has finally ended.

The rigorous routine of meeting from 8am to 10pm on a daily basis to rush up reports and presentation has

finally ended.

The need to stay awake till unearthly hours to do discussion has

finally ended.

The need to entertain group mates has

finally ended.

And most importantly, the sleep deprivation has

finally ended.

Week 12

Most people have the hell week this week but this was the week I realised the true colours of people. I had a group mate who would score well on his individual assignments and tasks. But when it comes to group work, he shirks any duty of it. When we ask him to do work, he would say ok and proceed to deliver abysmal results. When confronted, he would blame it on poor instruction on our part. Furthermore, he would then claim that we, the people who gave him instructions, are cocky and kicked him out of the role. What he didn't realise was that if we gave him a more important role, the level of screw up would increase exponentially. Being a rational human being, we made peace with him and pushed on for the project. However, after the project was done he proceeded to leave the group and that was the end of it. And who knows karma would bite him in the ass as there was peer evaluation after the module. On a bright side, look what we dressed up as for presentation!

You just need a little heart for a big task

Week 13

CT with these crazy people
I live by two simple and elegant rules. Firstly, to be close you cannot be shy, And secondly, "Whenever you annoy a person, hope they take it with a pinch of salt. If they don't then just apologise. If they do, you are good to annoy again." However, I have learnt my lesson that that was not always the case. People have different limits and you have to cater to their limits. Your regular annoyance and poking may pile up and become a huge lump on their backs. Unknowingly, you would have caused hurt to the person. As my LTB prof said, I am funny and friendly but I have one fatal flaw. I need to know the person well before I can joke around with that person. I guess that I wasn't close with that person and I pushed my joke too far. I apologise for my constant annoyance of you. But seriously, it doesn't entail what method you chose to pursue to deal with it. It was pretty childish I guess, but I am going to let it go. From a law perspective what I can be charged with is way less than what you friend would be slapped with. You need to learn more about the country before you choose to deal with problems your childish ways. As adults you just need to talk it out. Going to a third party is just a stupid move. But I respect your decision, I would apologise to you and I am never ever going to talk to you again. I may lose one friend, but I have gained a new insight and learnt more about myself. After all,

"Life is nothing but a competition to be the criminal or victim."

Now after going through these two chaotic weeks, I am really glad to end it with one of my favourite group of people. My stats group. You 3 guys are really my mental pillar of support in SMU. Really glad to have met you guys. To more prata in the future! And finally its end of semester 1. I can't wait to finally be able to take a module with that Zhiying.

Cheers
Han Ren
