Walking in circles
So today was a long day which culminated in a corporate entrepreneurship meeting at 7pm. Afterwards Rey was in the area so I decided to meet up with him. Apparently he's on a project to interview Burmese people to answer some questions. But he failed dramatically in his quest as the people he found at peninsular plaza kept telling him they didn't speak Burmese. So he decided to have a last ditch effort at beach road to salvage this day. And I was his co partner in crime
I left SMU and met him at lavender by which our adventures began.

As we walked and walk aimlessly, we realised we couldn't find any Burmese in this area. We tried approaching a person inside the NTUC but he was a Cambodian. But no, he's not a villager he's a construction worker
we decided to abandon plan and just walk around the whole neighbourhood. We never step foot in this area before and wanted to explore it thoroughly. It then became a night of adventure//

| Meet reynold, troublemaker and student |
Halfway through our adventure in the lesser known land of Singapore, rey bumped into an old schoolmate of his and chatted a while with him. Apparently there's not many Burmese in Singapore that's not Singaporean alr. That was another stab in his project so we decided to explore the shadier parts of the area. We walked randomly and discovered shops with amazing names. We walked by 小天使 and there was a shop named 天鹅. Obviously from the name you Can guess what shop it was
The streets were lined with these siam dius and china KTVs. There were even certain massage shops offering rates at low as 45++ per hour. I was pretty sure additional services entailed furthermore service of the hand.

And no we didn't enter any of those shady shops but it was amazing that these shops were opening out in the open. We managed to find a condo in the middle of this chaos and across the road was someone naked in his house. Okay that wasn't the point, I was taking photos of old shophouses and he just appeared in the photo okay. The area had a mix of the old and the new. There was a certain order in the middle of all these chaos. There was a mix of Indian and Chinese internationals here. And my friend told me something interesting.
"How does it feel to be a minority in your own country?"

Yes, our adventures brought us to mustafa center and we were glad to actually see human traffic after a while in a land of no people. The area was really crowded and we wanted to find somewhere to sit down and chill. But it was Indian restaurants all around and we gave up and continued exploring the area instead.

I was telling my friend why the heck we have these kind of displays for Chinese New Year and he updated me that thaipusam just ended a few days ago. The sights we saw here was amazing. They were things you would never experience in a normal day of life. There were people half naked sitting in the alley, people selling pretty much not legal stuff and SIM card shops everywhere. The area was amazing and I made a pact with rey to explore more places in the future.

We finally reached somewhere with familiar sides and took the downtown line. Apparently the new batch of lines opened and I don't even know wtf. I think I study too much till like living under a well.
It was really a nice break from studying. It was a night of adventure instead. Even though it was just slightly more than an hour of walking around Singapore in general. Looks like I discovered a new hobby.
