Back to school

Its been a long time since I was studying full time so it really has been quite a tough week for me, from the reluctance to expose myself to more people and stretching myself by joining Broadcast and Entertainment CCA.

To start the week off, me being the genius I was thought lessons started at 8.45 instead of 8.15. So i walked into the classroom like a boss and everyone was staring at me. Luckily there were two other latecomers after me and I was glad to make 2 new friends during BGS lessons.

After BGS there was a 4 hour long break so i decided to do some exploring around the school. Apparently members of the public would set up random stalls and flea market along the concourse to tempt you into donating money into their pockets. Well, dear sir and madams, I have other things to do than to help you out with your income.

That is where the tough rigourous ritual of buying textbook comes in. There's a website bookinbookout.com which caters to uni students who wants to buy 2nd hand textbook at a cheaper price. But beware of the edition of the textbook. Some people would want to pull a quick one on you like selling you 8th edition when you need the 9th edition and for an exorbitant price. I managed to haggle price with some fella and using my persuasive skills, i negotiated the BGS book from 25 down to 15 dollars. I dont really care if it is a photocopy version of the textbook, it was a moral victory on my side!

Financial Accounting gives me headaches

Basically in SMU, most of the professors are non-Singaporeans. It does not mean they do not hold PR status or singaporeans. But i mean they aren't Singaporean-Singaporean like you an I. I am not being xenophobic by just stating a fact. I have a PRC professor, a Korean professor, two Angmoh professors and only 1 Singaporean chinese professor. The tough part about having a non singaporean professor is that i cannot really make out their words. The non Ang Moh professors have a weaker grasp of the English language but i don't blame them for it is not their mother tongue after all. It makes it difficult and sometimes strenuous when attempting to make out their words during lessons. I will still try my best to pay attention during lessons but lesson learnt, Singaporeans 万岁!

I only have a 3 day week so it passed pretty quickly until thursday came by. Me being a genius, slipped and fell on the floor in the toilet, thus hampering my advance to zouk for freshman bash. It was pretty retarded cos i fell down in it before and i told myself i would not repeat that retarded mistake of attempting to rabona air in a floor with no friction. This time i did the exact same thing but i was smart enough to fall on my butt and not cushion it with my arms. So up till now, i still have a sore buttock.

It was Vivace day today! Personally i dislike the squeezing and handling human crowds in general but this time it was different as I set out on my journey to discover where the heck is the Broadcast and Entertainment CCA Booth. Before all this, my facilitator for bondue camp asked us to join a Dragonboat event called Splash! I wanted to go since it cost only like 6 bucks for a buffet lunch, a T-shirt and the chance to go dragonboating! The last time i went I had a sore back for days but it was worth it since it is GOD DAMN FUN! We signed up as a bondue group except Zhiying who had lessons, more about this later.

After signing up for Splash! We went to the CSP booth and some interest groups. I was talked into signing up for a Business Management and Finance group. Apparently they cater talks weekly and we can attend it for a small fee of 15 dollars. I found it quite a good deal for its like 40 talks in a year for 15 dollars, thats like 40 cents per talk. And i know even if i dont attend every single talk, it would be like 5 dollar per talk if i attend just 3. So i just signed up for it.

Continuing our adventure down in Vivace, Tenny finally found his StereoMeta whereby you learn how to spin like a true blue DJ. Tenny was like a kid who finally found his playground as he immediately asked tons of questions while i stood idle by the side trying to be interested. Not that i don't want to join but i was still in my quest to find the hidden booth.
Big club, hidden booth

We met dickson on our quest in finding the SMUBE (I got lazy spelling my CCA out) booth and he signed up for SMUBE too! Looks like i will have a friend there by default despite me being all YOLO. Luckily, it was not compulsory to go for the camp since i have to go for Reis DND which hopefully he will win hall king. So i talked to the senior over there who suggested i audition for personality hunt in SMU. I believe i may try for it since you either go big or go home. The people at the booth was friendly and really gave me much information about the CCA.

After that we parted ways as I was tempted to join soccer. However my attempts to reignite the passion failed for the Male soccer team closed down their booth already. Zhiying then messaged us about the formation of teams in dragonboat as he wanted the "group discount". In his attempts to find us by the google documents one by one, he stumbled upon mine easily. Because i wrote down "Why Almo so handsome". Our group had a good laugh and that was the end of a short but hectic day in school.

I also received an email from project Namaste IX who would give me an interview this sunday. Hopefully all goes well as I tend to have some nervous breaks before interviews. I believe half of the student population signed up for this and i really hope i get it since i really believe i can make a difference in a child's life and provide him a guide on the path of proper education.

Cheers
